Time Flies

It's been quite a while since I've put some of my thoughts out there so I figured you are about due to hear some of them now!

I have started a new schedule with my job so I'm now able to stay home with Addison on Tues, Wed, and Thurs.  I go into the office on Mondays and Fridays while my mom keeps her and I  work from home once Nick gets home in the evenings to make up some extra hours.  It has been kind of hectic so far because Nick's work schedule has been kind of crazy, but I'm hoping that will soon change so I can get into a routine.  I can't complain though since I am able to spend more time with her and enjoy her more than I was when I was working Mon-Fri at the office.  I am grateful for even having that option available for me.

Addison is just a little over 8 months old now and just keeps on surprising us with something new every single day.  The kid is a dare devil and constantly keeps us on our toes!  She loves climbing anything and/or anyone over and over again.  Nick had been saying when she was younger how he thought she was going to end up being a girly-girl, but it appears as if she's going to be far from a girly-girl!  She's mastered pulling herself up and walks along the sides of the sofa using her hands so I'm assuming it shouldn't be much longer before she's running around this place like a mad woman.

Nick and I have experienced so much with her already and look forward to seeing what each new day will bring!

Beth took some pictures of Addy at Bixler's baby shower last weekend...

She always has something in her mouth...

Lounging in my new chair.  Now, this is the life!

Addison has her very own big girl chair!

She was hamming it up big time and was loving her new chair!

Newer pictures of Addison...Finally!

I know I'm horrible at keeping this thing updated, but I'm going to try and make a concentrated effort to at least post updated pictures of Addison.  We'll see how it goes!

My first Mother's Day with Addy here!

Of course I kind of celebrated Mother's Day last year as I was about 2 months pregnant with Addison, but this year was soooo much better with her here.  Nick was in Vegas last year right before Mother's Day so he surprised me a new Coach purse he'd picked out for me while he was there.  This year he surprised me with a sterling silver charm bracelet from Tiffany's along with a charm of the letter "A" and one that's a heart that says 'I Love You'!!!
We had some of my family over for a bbq and fun with the new Wii on Saturday evening and this afternoon we met some of Nick's family down at the Power and Light District for lunch.  It was a nice weekend with family and Nick was wonderful (he usually is anyway, but he was extra wonderful this weekend) about helping out and making sure I was taken care of.
Addison is now eating rice cereal with some fruit mixed in it.  She's not a big fan of pears, but is managing to keep bananas down.  She can also put her bottle in her mouth all by herself now and is eager to feed herself with the spoon.  Cereal time usually ends up with us battling her for the spoon because she'll grab onto it for dear life and boy, she's got one heck of a grip on her!
She's always been a cuddly baby, but here over the past couple of days she's started to suck on our faces when we're holding her...I think she's trying to kiss us, but she might just be trying to knaw on us since she's started teething.  I'm going to try my hardest to update this more frequently, but in the meantime you can check out some pics of her and I on Mother's Day!

National Champions...Woooooohoooooooo!!!!

I'm speechless for once, what can I say?  Nick had pretty much given up on our guys, but I know they play their best under pressure so I was still holding out hope that we'd pull through.  They did just that tonight with a little help from some poor coaching strategy on Memphis' part.  Don't get me wrong, KU played a good game, but Memphis should've fouled us before Chalmers was able to shoot (and make) that HUGE 3 pointer.  That shot is what gave us the momentum to dominate overtime and it was our game from then on out!!!  This game will go down in history for numerous reasons.  I want to hear what Coach Williams has to say...did you notice that he was sporting KU gear?  (c;  Congrats to our Jayhawks and Coach Self!!!!!

Rock Chalk Jayhawk!

What a game tonight!!!!  I'm so glad we ("we" means KU) are on our way to the finals and am pumped for Monday night now!!!!  As many of you know, I'm a die hard Jayhawk fan and as you can see from the pictures of Addy, I'm working on turning her into one too.  What a great group of athletes those Jayhawks are!  If I had to pick a favorite player, it would be Darnell Jackson #32 because he's made the biggest turnaround from last season to this season...it also helps that he's easy on the eyes.  My adrenaline is pumping and I need to turn it down a notch so I can get to bed now.  I'm going to go dream of what it will be like to be the National Champions...
Rock Chalk Jayhawk KU!!!!!!!!!!!!!
